Learning Hindi with the help of a Rhyme – Lal Lal Gaajar

This is yet another post for beginners to learn Hindi using a simple rhyme. Children who want to learn Hindi rhymes can also use this.




लाल लाल गाजर, लाल था टमाटर
मटर था हरा, दाना था भरा|

खाया एक टमाटर, खाई चार गाजर
मटर था हरा भरा, खाया दाना हरा हरा|

लाल अनार का बड़ा एक दाना
भाग गया उधर कहना न माना |

lal lal gaajar, lal tha tamatar
matar tha hara, dana tha bhara.

khaya ek tamatar, khayi char gaajar
matar tha hara bhara, khaya dana hara hara.

lal anar ka bada ek dana
bhaag gaya udhar kahana na maana.

Meaning:
Red red carrots, red were tomatoes
pea was green, was full of grain.

Ate a tomato, ate four carrots
pea was fresh, ate green green (very fresh) seeds.

One of the big red pomegranate grain
ran over there, refused to listen.
