Ye - Ve Sentences --- Use of These and Those

Today we are going to see how to use These (ये) & Those (वे). 

These and those are demonstratives, which means they indicate a specific noun in a sentence. The two words refer to nouns that are near and far in space and time respectively. (ये और वे प्रदर्शनकारी हैं, जिसका अर्थ है कि वे एक वाक्य में एक विशिष्ट संज्ञा का संकेत देते हैं। दो शब्द उन संज्ञाओं को संदर्भित करते हैं जो क्रमशः स्थान और समय में निकट और दूर हैं।) 

The four most common demonstratives are this, that, these, and those. We shall learn about this and that in our next post.

 

These का प्रयोग बहुवचन कर्ता (Plural Subject) के साथ किया जाता है।

These का प्रयोग भी कोई व्यक्ति या वस्तु के पास में होने के अर्थ को व्यक्त करता है।

ये - हैं (Ye - Haim) sentences

In the present tense, all the sentences starting with ये (Yeh) ends in हैं (haim).

English	Hindi	Transliteration
These are books.	ये किताबें हैं	Ye kitaabem haim
These are windows.	ये खिड़कियाँ हैं	Ye khidkiyam haim
These are boys.	ये लड़के हैं	Ye ladke haim
These are girls	ये लड़कियाँ हैं	Ye ladkiyam haim
These are fruits.	ये फल हैं	Ye phal haim

वे – हैं (Ve – Haim) sentences

In the present tense, all the sentences starting with वे (Ve) ends in हैं (haim).

English	Hindi	Transliteration
Those are books.	वे किताबें हैं	Ve kitaabem haim
Those are boys.	वे लड़के हैं	Ve ladke haim
Those are girls.	वे लड़कियाँ हैं	Ve ladkiyam haim
Those are teachers.	वे अध्यापक हैं	Ve adhyapak haim
Those are fruits.	वे फल हैं	Ve phal haim

Test:

 Try forming some simple sentences using These & Those.

1) These are flowers.

Hint: flowers = phool

2) Those are bananas.

Hint: bananas = kele

3) These are stones.

Hint: stones = pathar

4) Those are kids.

Hint: kids = bachche
