Doubtful Present Tense – संदिग्ध वर्तमान काल (sandigdh varthaman kaal)

Doubtful Present – संदिग्ध वर्तमान काल (sandigdh varthaman kaal)

It refers to an action (or experience) as doubtful in happening in the present tense. Doubt is expressed by adding होगा (hoga).

क्रिया के जिस रूप से वर्तमान काल क्रिया के होने या करने पर शक हो, उसे संदिग्ध वर्तमान काल कहते है। अथार्त जिन वाक्यों के अंत में ता होगा, ती होगी, ते होंगे आदि आते हैं, उसे संदिग्ध वर्तमान काल कहते हैं।

Doubtful Present is formed by adding ता हूँगा (ta hoonga), ती हूँगी (thi hoongi),ते होगे (te hoge), ती होगी ( thi hogi), ता होगा (ta hoga), ते होंगे(te honge) or ती होंगी (te hongi) to the  verb root, depending upon the gender and number of the noun.

I may be going	में जाता हूँगा(म.) में जाती हूँगी(फ.)	Mein jaatha hoonga(m.) Mein jaathi hoongi(f.)
We may be going	हम जाते होंगे(म.) हम जाती होंगी(फ.)	Hum jaathe honge(m.) Hum jaathi hongi(f.)
You may be going(informal)	तुम जाते होगे(म.) तुम जाती होगी(फ.)	Tum jaathe hoge(m.) Tum jaathi hogi(f.)
You may be going(formal)	आप जाते होंगे(म.) आप जाती होंगी(फ.)	Aap jaathe honge(m.) Aap jaathi hongi(f.)
He may be going	वह जाता होगा	Vah jaatha hoga
She may be going	वह जाती होगी	Vah jaathi hogi
They may be going	वे जाते होंगे(म.) वे जाती होंगी(फ.)	Ve jaathe honge(m.) Ve jaathi hongi(f.)

Boy may be studying	लड़का पड़ता होगा	Ladka padtha hoga
John may be reading a book	जॉन किताब पड़ता होगा	John kitab padtha hoga
Mother may be preparing chapaties	माँ रोटी बनाती होगी	Maa roti banathi hogi
Train may be coming	रेलगाड़ी आ रही होगी	Relgaadi aa rahi hogi
It may be striking four now.	अब चार बजते होंगे	Ab chaar bajthe honge
You may be knowing Sharukh Khan.	आप शारुख ख़ान को जानते होंगे	Aap sharukh khan ko jaanthe honge
My friends may be returning from market	मेरे दोस्त बाज़ार से लौट रहे होंगे	Mere dost bazaar se laut rahe honge
Harry and Joseph may be playing cricket	हॅरी और जोसेफ क्रिकेट खेल रहे होंगे	Harry aur Joseph cricket khel rahe honge
He may be touring in Paris.	वह पॅरिस मे पर्यटन कर रहा होगा	Vah Paris me paryatan kar raha hoga
This train may not be halting at all stations.	यह रेलगाड़ी सभी स्टेशनो में रुकती नहीं होगी	Yah relgaadi sabhi stationo mein rukthi nahin hogi.
